Creative Title Treatments
Once you've chosen the perfect title for your scrapbook page, consider using one of the following fun techniques to add extra pizzazz to your project:
- Print your title out using a fun font, then highlight the most important words with a bit of scrapbook chalk.
- Print your title on a transparency then layer it over top of your layout's dominant photo.
- Use rubber stamps to spell out your title on a tag and accent with a piece of pretty ribbon.
- Combine several different styles of epoxy letter stickers to create a title with a "ransom note" effect.
- Fake the look of a hand painted title by printing your words on the lightest gray setting possible. Color directly over the title with acrylic paint, colored pencils or watercolors.
- Experiment with the text effects in Microsoft Word to create titles that circle around your page.
- Design a layered title by printing part of your title on a sheet of vellum and placing it over a background of sticker letters.
- Make a rebus style title by using small picture embellishments to replace some of the words in your title. For example, a heart shaped brad can be substituted for the word "love" or a smiley face sticker can be used in place of the word "happy."
- Use a label maker from an office supply store to create your title.
- Apply rub on letters to plain tin tiles, then attach to your page with glue dots.
