Your college memories deserve an important place in your scrapbook!

When documenting the story of your life, don't forget to add a few college scrapbooking layouts to your album.

College Scrapbooking Ideas

For many people, college provides a first taste of independence and self-exploration. To preserve these important memories, consider creating layouts based on the following journaling questions:

  • How did you decide which school to attend? What do you remember about the application process?
  • How did you feel on your first day of class? Was it difficult for you to make the transition from high school to college?
  • How did you select your college major? Was it a field you've always been interested in or did something happen in college to spark your passion for this particular area?
  • Who were your favorite professors? What made their teaching style special?
  • Who were your college friends? What did you do for fun together? Did you keep in touch after graduation?
  • What organizations did you belong to in college? Were you a member of a sorority? An honor society? A pre-professional group?
  • Where did you live during college? Who were your roommates?
  • Did you work part-time while you went to school? If so, what did you learn from this experience?
  • How did you feel on graduation day? Were you excited or simply nervous about what the future held?
  • How has your life changed since college? Is the "real world" everything you expected it to be?

Quotes to Use on College Layouts

If you're looking for quotes to use on your college scrapbooking projects, consider these words of wisdom:

  • "You have four years to be irresponsible here. Relax. Work is for people with jobs. You'll never remember class time, but you'll remember time you wasted hanging out with your friends. So, stay out late. Go out on a Tuesday with your friends when you have a paper due Wednesday. Spend money you don't have. Drink 'til sunrise. The work never ends, but college does..." -- Tom Petty
  • "If you tell folks you're a college student, folks are so impressed. You can be a student in anything and not have to know anything. Just say toxicology or marine biokinesis, and the person you're talking to will change the subject to himself. If this doesn't work, mention the neural synapses of embryonic pigeons." -- Chuck Palahniuk
  • "The quality of a university is measured more by the kind of student it turns out than the kind it takes in." -- Robert J. Kibbee
  • "Education is that which remains when one has forgotten everything learned in school." -- Albert Einstein
  • "You are only young once, after that you have to think of another excuse." -- Billy Arthur
  • "College is the fountain of knowledge and the students are there to drink." -- Unknown

Finding College-Themed Scrapbook Supplies

Since many of the generic school scrapbooking supplies are more suited to elementary and high school students, finding college-themed scrapbooking supplies can sometimes prove to be a difficult task. In most cases, you'll want to look for albums, papers, and embellishments at your college bookstore or the scrapbook store nearest your Alma mater. You may even be able to request that the manager order a scrapbooking kit for you.If your search for college-themed scrapbook supplies is unsuccessful, consider simply designing your pages using your school colors. You can add small embellishments by searching for relevant photos and clip art on your university's Web site. If this scheme seems to clash with your photos, use digital image editing software to convert the images to black and white for a timeless look.
